Next ACLA Quarterly Meeting

The next ACLA Quarterly Meeting will be hosted at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) on Friday July 10th from 8:30-10:00 a.m. We will be discussing useful career resources, our new website, and other news at ACLA member libraries.

[CFCC visitor parking is available in the L-lot (corner of Walnut and 2nd Streets). Make sure to park in the marked visitor spaces and then you can walk across 2nd Street into the Learning Resources Building (L-building). Elevator is on the left, stairs on the right. The Library is on the second floor.]

There will also be an ACLA/NCLA New Member Roundtable networking event on Friday, August 7th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cardinal Lanes on Shipyard. $6.00 per person including shoes.
Join us for a little library staff networking while bowling, cheering and/or snacking!

Register for the NCLA Conference in October

Please see the link below or visit the NCLA home page for our Call for Proposals for the 61st Biennial Conference coming to Greensboro, October 20-23, 2015.  This call includes poster sessions as well as panel discussions if applicable.  We have a great line-up of keynoters scheduled and we would love to have you join us and Make it Matter!

Bowl-A-Rama II Results!

On Friday, April 17th, library staff from across New Hanover County celebrated National Library Week with a Bowl-A-Rama. Teams from Cape Fear Community College, UNCW, and the New Hanover County Public Library competed in a single-elimination tournament with the victor donating the proceeds to the charity of their choosing. Thanks, Jacob!

NCLA Deadline Extension for Posters and Presentations

NCLA has extended the deadline for presentation and poster proposals.  If you thought you only had two days, you now have until May 11th.  Don’t delay and get those proposals in today! The former deadline for Call For Proposals is this Thursday, April 30th. Please submit complete proposals for presentations and poster sessions, as well as any requests for luncheon or breakfast events through the following website:  http://www.nclaonline.org/conferences/2015.
