NC LIVE

Wading into e-books and e-audios at NCLIVE

Get to know the many e-book and e-audio options available through NCLIVE!  This half-day workshop focuses on each vendor including how to access, search, read, and download, as well as strategies and sources for information about how to download to the latest devices.  A comparison chart with each vendor’s features will be provided.  Vendors covered include:  ProQuest ebrary, ebooks from EBSCOhost, myilibrary, and the Home Grown ebook collection, as well as One Click and Learning Express.

Other State Library CE events to be announced later this spring . . .  a workshop on Designing and Implementing Effective Surveys (co-sponsored with the Perkins Library at Duke University), plus several half-day workshops on collecting and using data from the annual Public Library Survey.

Happy 2016!

Happy New Year ACLA and NCLA members!

Please join us for the next Azalea Coast Library Association (ACLA) Quarterly Meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the New Hanover County Public Library Main Library in downtown Wilmington.  We will be discussing the inaugural one-day conference in April, the structure of the new website, networking events, what’s happening at area libraries, and more.  Parking is free in the lot next to the library and there will be snacks!

BLINC Meeting in Greensboro, NC

This is a reminder that our always free, always open to anyone BLINC quarterly workshop is coming up Wednesday in Greensboro!

The main topic of our winter workshop is how to teach business and nonprofit research sources and strategies. We will have a series of mini-presentations on training, for both public librarian and academic librarian teaching situations — and how we can learn from each other. The workshop will also include tips and tricks training for NC LIVE business resources, an NCLA 2015 recap, and a short round of BLINC business. Detailed agenda and timing below.
